🔒 Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2026-05-22

Welcome! This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect on donotdisturbme.io, why we collect it, how we protect it, and what choices you have. We are committed to being transparent about our practices.

1) What we collect

The site uses a short-lived session cookie for basic site functionality and interactive features. This cookie is automatically deleted when you close your browser.

Game statistics (e.g. scores, win/loss records, best times), difficulty preferences, and theme settings are stored locally in your browser using local storage (not cookies). This data remains on your device and is not sent to our servers.

Our web server may automatically log technical information such as IP addresses, browser type and version, referring URLs, and timestamps. These logs are used for security, troubleshooting, and understanding how the site is used in aggregate. We do not use them to identify individual users or build profiles about you.

2) Advertising (Adsterra)

We may show display ads through Adsterra, a third-party advertising network. Adsterra and its advertising partners may use cookies, device identifiers, or similar technologies in ad frames to deliver and measure ads (including, where permitted by law, interest-based advertising). Information such as IP address, browser type, approximate location, and pages you view on our site may be processed. We choose where ads appear on our pages, but we do not operate Adsterra's ad systems and do not control their partners' data practices beyond what they publish.

For details, see Adsterra's own policy (updated on their site from time to time): Adsterra privacy policy.

3) Analytics (Google Analytics)

We use Google Analytics 4 (provided by Google Ireland Limited and/or Google LLC, collectively "Google") to understand how visitors use our site in aggregate—for example which pages are viewed, how users arrive (search, direct link, referral), approximate geography, and device or browser type. Google Analytics sets first-party cookies (such as _ga) and similar identifiers and may collect your IP address (often truncated), page URLs, and interaction events. We use this information to improve the site and content, not to sell your personal data.

Google processes this data under its own policies. See Google Privacy Policy and Google Analytics terms. You can opt out of Google Analytics on websites that use it by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. Additional rights may apply in your region (for example in the European Economic Area).

4) Cookies and local storage

Cookies: We use cookies for (a) basic site functionality, such as maintaining your session during a visit, (b) advertising and measurement when we show third-party ads (Adsterra), and (c) site analytics through Google Analytics 4 (see section 3). You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; some features may not work correctly if you block all cookies.

Local storage: We use the browser's local storage to save your game statistics, difficulty preferences, and theme selection. This data is stored only on your device. We do not read it back to our servers. You can clear it via your browser's developer tools or privacy/clear data options.

5) Data retention

Session cookies expire when you close your browser. Google Analytics cookies (such as _ga) are retained according to Google's default settings (often up to two years unless you clear them sooner). Server logs are typically retained for a limited period (e.g. a few weeks to a few months) for security and operational needs, then deleted or anonymized. Data in your browser's local storage remains until you clear it or until your browser or device removes it according to its own rules.

6) Your choices

You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings. You can clear local storage for our site through your browser's developer tools or privacy/data settings. For Google Analytics, you may use the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on or manage cookies in your browser. For information about how Adsterra handles data and what choices may be available, see the Adsterra privacy policy. Device- or industry-level opt-out tools may also exist depending on your region. If you are in the European Economic Area or other regions with similar rights, you may have additional choices under applicable law; contact us if you wish to exercise them.

7) Children's privacy

Our site is aimed at a general audience. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it.

8) Where data is processed

Our servers and service providers (including Google for Analytics) may be located in different countries. If you access the site from outside the country where we or our providers operate, your data may be transferred to and processed in those locations. By using the site, you consent to such transfer and processing to the extent permitted by your local law.

9) How we protect data

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the data we hold (such as server logs) against unauthorized access, loss, or alteration. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security. We do not collect sensitive personal data (such as payment or health information) through the site.

10) Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top will change when we do. We encourage you to review this page periodically. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy. For significant changes, we may post a notice on the site or contact you if we have a way to do so.

11) Contact
